The “diamond-like source” (DLS) series of pulsable IR emitters has been further expanded.
In addition to the large DLSxxxX2224 chip, a smaller DLSxxxX0808 chip is also available. At 250 mW, the power consumption is less than 1/3 that of the large chip (measured at 10 Hz, 50% duty cycle). The DLSxxxX0808 emits over the 2-13 µm spectrum and is therefore particularly well suited for handheld devices and miniaturised sensors.
